  • OUR MPLS DESIGN PROCESS IS BASED ON THREE CENTRAL PILLARS

Our sales process won the BT innovation award. We've mapped out every key important area and adapted a step-by-step sales workflow.

    1. Establishing your requirements - By developing a process built to align your business with the elements of MPLS provider design, you’re funneled down a path of intelligent proposal production. Spanning more than 20 distinct areas, Network Union will consider business strategy, technical and budget to create an architecture for your next MPLS WAN incorporating data security, diversity and cloud-based requirements.

    2. Learn and improve - Our technical account management is intrinsically iterative. We work with you to understand the impact of business changes and new projects. Our regular reviews include statistical analysis of your application performance including uptime, jitter and latency. These sessions include SLA breach reviews and end to end service review.

    3. Available for Global and UK businesses - We’ve made it our mission to become experts in the field of Global and UK managed BT MPLS WAN services. We are currently BT Partner of the Year and have been awarded ‘most innovative partner’ as the result of our unique sales process. Our sales workflows are reviewed every three months to ensure we remain relevant.

BT AS MY POTENTIAL MPLS NETWORK PROVIDER - WHAT IS THE LATEST STATE OF MANAGED SERVICES?

BT have transformed their managed MPLS provider services. In 2017, we’ve become experts in every aspect of their Global and UK platform. The capability is now delivered from a single team with services from Managed MPLS through to Managed LAN, Cloud and Security applications. Technical design authority, project management, service management and installation tasks are all performed by a central team based in Belfast.

This is a marked changed from the previous BT IP Connect Global platform and is a welcome enhancement to the portfolio. If you’ve not considered BT or perhaps you’ve been a customer in the past, now is a great time to learn about their features and benefits via the Network Union.

The new iteration is substantially different with more autonomy from staff, access to BT systems and very experienced jeopardy and escalation management. Resources are more accessible than ever due to the single team delivery.

WHAT ARE MY AVAILABLE BT MPLS CONNECTIVITY OPTIONS?

  • BT MPLS is available via 1Gbps and 100Mbps Ethernet, Super fast Broadband, GEA (Generic Ethernet Access) and mobile 3G or 4G fast start services.
  • All of the above circuit options are available within the majority of the UK. Where Global design is in play, end to end checks are performed to establish availability.
  • Our sales process is designed to outline the considerations your business will need to make when deploying connectivity types. In some cases, using Broadband as a failover option may be considered suitable, in others this there will be a potential risk of congestion.
  • Newer diversity options include 3G and 4G technology acting as failover with multi-provider SIM cards. Wireless connectivity represents an ideal way to overcome tail circuit failure depending on coverage and performance. We’re able to provide a survey.
  • True diversity using dual RA01 (BT naming for Resilient Access) will provide, subject to survey, the following:

USE OF DUAL BUILDING ENTRY POINTS / USE OF RESILIENT CPE (CISCO ROUTERS AND SWITCHES) / DUAL LOCAL EXCHANGE POINTS / DUAL TAIL ETHERNET CIRCUITS WITH DIVERSE ROUTING / DUAL MPLS PROVIDER TRANSMISSION POP SITES / DUAL PROVIDER EDGE PE DEVICES / BGP PROTOCOL ROUTING / MPLS VPN PROVIDER DIVERSITY

  • BT Global are one of the leading providers of International coverage across Asia-Pacific, Europe, Middle East and Africa, North and South America. We have a detailed list of specific locations for download, let us know you wish to review network locations.

DELIVERY, PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND CHANGE CONTROL

The key initiative to house the entire end to end managed services team under one roof results in tight alignment between the end to end workflows of the team. Under the new capability, 100% ownership exists with complete access to systems ensure much-improved agility.

When a new project is placed on the system and orders validated, a new project manager is assigned within five days of the initial welcome call. Project management processes exist based on PRINCE and ITIL standards with risk management, plans and milestones all tightly aligned to requirement defined within the presales staging of your project.

Change management is a much tighter experience, portal access means your changes can be actioned and monitored much more efficiently. All orders are fully validated, data circuits managed through the survey process, contractual delivery dates are delivered and monitored for progress. All Open Reach escalations are carried out with escalation approval required depending on status.

We also provide full access to technical design authority for bespoke WAN architecture.

THE TOOLS USED TO SUPPORT AND ANALYSE YOUR MPLS SERVICE

Our BT resources provide a dedicated team of experts responsible for the delivery, training and continuous improvement of tools. The portal system offers insights into trouble tickets with the ability to log issues live within the system. All customers receive a comprehensive view of their network including full inventory, SLA reporting and issue management.

As with other aspects of the BT MPLS service, the end to end technology and process stack is owned and managed by the same BT team that delivers and supports the WAN.

Incident management is at the core of everything we do.

Our regular reviews are one aspect but importantly, jeopardy management is an automated component of MPLS networking with automatic escalation from 1st to 3rd line management. Within each team, triage exists to ensure the

All customer updates are bespoke and per customer with quality checks completed for consistency. The service offering providers on call managers where major incidents occur including a full escalation process.

THE TDA - TECHNICAL DESIGN AUTHORITY

BT’s Managed MPLS offering is designed to address a large percentage of the business market, whether your organisation consists of 3 sites or well over 100. With each opportunity, a technical design authority pre-sales engineer is assigned to your opportunity. Their workflows ensure complex requirements are right the first time, well documented, deliverable and supported correctly.

In some cases, more complex or bespoke management and delivery is required. The TDA team will look to advise on the feasibility request.

DOCUMENTATION AND NETWORK DESIGN

As part of the install of MPLS data services, the Project Manager will provide documentation. This will consist of the client project information tracker. This documentation will be completed during the during service delivery, with information being shared on a regular basis with your team.

MPLS Providers DocumentationAt the end of the delivery process, it is complete and forms the handover documentation, providing the information necessary for reference post-implementation including, design, detailed device information, circuit information, testing information and maintenance arrangements.
